The best part about being part of a network of gardeners is you don't have to grow everything yourself. The only fruits we grow are strawberries and blueberries. We planted a blackberry plant this year, but we'll have to wait until next year to see if it will produce fruit. My parents have a grapevine. Some years the grapevine does well and sometimes it does not. It is Indiana and not sunny California, so we take what we can get. This year was a prosperous year for my parents. My boys and I were able to harvest 21 bunches of grapes. We could have harvested more, but my dad was saying something about leave some for your sister.
